Bali

Language

The official language in Bali is Indonesian although many locals speak English.

Time Zone

Bali is 13 hours ahead of our local Salt Lake City mountain time zone.

Electricity

There are two associated plug types in Bali, Type C and F. Be sure
to purchase an adapter or wall socket when traveling from the USA.

Climate

When traveling to Bali in June we will be there during the dry
season. There are 10 hours of sunlight and the average temperature is 88
degrees Fahrenheit. Be sure to pack for this type of weather and
outdoor activities. Ensure you also bring bug spray.

Health

Medical insurance is recommended when traveling to Bali but not required.

Tips

Take note that although all tourism workers are paid a fixed salary,
tips are used as their main income. It is considerate to tip your
tourism workers although it is not required. Tourism workers should only
be tipped if exceptional service is provided.

Currency

Bali's currency is the Indonesian rupiah (IDR). 1 US dollars equal approximately $15,000 IDR.

Should I be worried about Bali Belly?

As long as you do NOT drink the tab water you will be okay. Do not use ice in drinks but instead ask for a chilled glass.

Do I need a Visa?

A stay under 30 days does not require a Visa.

Can I drink the water?

No! Stick to bottled water.

Do I need vaccinations when traveling to Bali?

A rabies shot is recommend as we will be around wild monkeys.

Should I be worried about Dengue Fever?

Be sure to wear mosquito spray and there should be nothing to worry about.

What kind of food is eaten in Bali?

Rice, Vegetables, Seafood, Meat, with a variety of spices and sauces.
