7. Highlands Trip 

The first site of visit will be The Twins, are two craters formed by collapsing the surface of gigantic air rooms, trapped as air bubbles, one on each side of the road for which it has this name. Here you have the opportunity to see the famous Escalesia Forest, an endemic plant of the Galapagos Islands and one of the favorite habitats of the Darwin finches, you will also be able to see birds like the mary canary and the flycatcher (Pájaro Brujo). The next stop will be Rancho, a private estate where the famous TORTOISES live in a natural state. They prefer the high parts of the islands where the climate is cooler and wetter because they will find n more food and enough water. Near this place are LAVA TUNNELS that were long ago rivers where hot lava flowed. In this ranch we will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch.

The Twin Craters, locally known as Los Gemelos, are two wide pits on the Santa Cruz Island. They were formed through magma chambers collapsing following a volcanic uprising, lava hardened on the outside, but on the inside it kept flowing.

These impressive underground tunnels southwest of the village of Santa Rosa are more than 1km in length and were formed when the outside skin of a molten-lava flow solidified. When the lava flow ceased, the molten lava inside the flow kept going, emptying out of the solidified skin and thus leaving tunnels.

Navigation starts going to the Islet “La lobería”, named because of the big colony of Sea Lions, if the conditions alowe it we can snrokel around them. Also is a very special place to see colorfull fishes in the reef. After we are heading to Punta Estrada where we are gonna walk till La Playa de los Perros to watch a colony of marine iguanas, zayapas (galapagos endemic crabs), blue footed boobies, frigates, sea lions, etc. Then we are going to a sightseeing known as the Sharks Chanel where rest the Galapagos specie of Sharks.

2. Quito City Tour
