Hiking excursion through the natural reserve where we will find forests of manzanillo trees, Scalesia trees, grasses, and endemic woody plants. We can observe giant land tortoises in their natural habitat, especially when arriving at the Green Lagoons where they coexist with other endemic species around the watering area, an important food source. Frigatebirds and Galápagos ducks swim in search of microorganisms, clean their feathers, and rest beside the tortoises while cooling off in the water and sinking into the mud to rid themselves of external parasites found in the area.

Within the same reserve, you will be able to explore the interior of lava tunnels formed by solidified lava rivers created hundreds of years ago from volcanic eruptions. The tunnels are easily accessible for visitors.

3. Love Channel

The tour begins with a visit to the Love Channel, where the geological formations, crystal-clear waters, and surrounding flora create a unique setting.

5. Playa de Los Perros

Followed by Dog Beach, where you can observe a colony of marine iguanas and enjoy beautiful scenic views.Named after the species of dog crab that is found in the place, you can see nests of iguanas and colonies of them with a great view of the bay.

6. Punta Estrada

The second ideal visiting site to observe terns, blue-footed booties, frigatebirds, etc. The tour then continues to Punta Estrada, where you can spot birds such as terns, blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and more.

After a two-hour navigation, we arrive at the south of the largest island in the archipelago. Isabela represents 60% of the total land area of the Galápagos and is known for its active volcanoes in the northern part of the island.

Los Gemelos are two large sinkholes formed by lava. These two formations originated from lava flows that solidified on the surface while the interior remained hollow. Over time, the ground collapsed, creating these striking geological features.

4. Scalesia forest

In the area, you can observe the Scalesia forest, an endemic plant species of the Galápagos Islands and one of the preferred habitats of finches.
