London

Language

  • The official language of London is English, and it’s widely spoken throughout the city.

Time Zone

  • London operates on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) or British Summer Time (BST) during daylight saving, making it 7 hours ahead of Salt Lake City Mountain Time.

Electricity

  • London uses Type G wall sockets with a standard voltage of 230V. Travelers from the U.S. will need a plug adapter and possibly a voltage converter.

Climate

  • London has a temperate oceanic climate (Cfb) characterized by cool, often cloudy winters with occasional rain or snow, and mild, pleasant summers. Rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year, so it’s always a good idea to carry an umbrella.

Health

  • While medical insurance is not required to travel to London, it’s recommended for peace of mind, especially if you plan to stay for an extended period or participate in activities. https://www.travelexinsurance.com/homepage?location=44-0110&go=bp

Currency

  • The currency in London is the Pound Sterling (GBP). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s handy to have cash for small purchases or markets.

Transportation

  • London’s public transport system is excellent, with the Tube, buses, and trains connecting all parts of the city. Get an Oyster card or contactless payment method for easy travel. Walking is also a great way to explore central London.

Tipping

  • Tipping is appreciated but not always expected. A service charge is often included in restaurant bills, but if not, 10–15% is customary. Small tips are appreciated in taxis and at hotels.

Safety

  • London is a safe city, but it’s wise to stay aware of your surroundings and watch for pickpockets, especially in crowded tourist areas and on public transport.

Packing Tips

  • Pack layers, as London’s weather can change quickly. Comfortable walking shoes are a must for exploring. An umbrella or waterproof jacket is essential year-round.

Local Etiquette

  • Londoners value politeness and patience. Always queue properly, and be mindful of personal space, especially on public transport.

Connectivity

  • Free public Wi-Fi is available in many areas, including cafes, museums, and parks. Consider purchasing a local SIM card or international roaming plan for seamless connectivity.

Ireland

Language

  • The official languages of Ireland are Irish and English, with English being the most widely spoken. While Irish is taught in schools and used in some rural areas, English is the primary language for communication throughout the country. Learning a few basic Irish phrases, though, can be a fun way to engage with locals.

Time Zone

  • Ireland is 7 hours ahead of Salt Lake City (Mountain Time) during standard time. This may change slightly if daylight saving time is in effect.

Electricity

  • Ireland uses Type G outlets with a standard voltage of 230V. Make sure to bring an adapter if your electronics use a different plug type.

Climate

  • The climate in Ireland is mild but often unpredictable. For example, February tends to be cool with temperatures ranging from 39°F (4°C) to 46°F (8°C). It’s also quite rainy, so pack an umbrella and a waterproof jacket. Layers are key, as the weather can shift throughout the day.

Health

  • Medical insurance is recommended but not required for travel to Ireland. It’s a good idea to have travel insurance that covers health emergencies while abroad.

Currency

  • The official currency in Ireland is the Euro (€). The exchange rate fluctuates, but as of now, $1 USD is approximately equal to 0.94 Euros. Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's always good to have some cash on hand for smaller shops or rural areas.

Transportation

  • Ireland has an extensive public transportation network, including buses, trains, and trams in major cities like Dublin. Renting a car is common, especially if you plan to explore rural areas or the countryside. Be aware that in Ireland, cars drive on the left side of the road. A Leap Visitor Card is a good option for unlimited travel on Dublin’s buses, trams, and trains.

Safety

  • Ireland is generally a safe destination for travelers. However, like in any tourist-heavy area, be mindful of your belongings in crowded places like Dublin’s Temple Bar district. Pickpocketing can happen in busy areas, though it is not common. Avoid walking alone in unfamiliar areas at night.

Local Cuisine

  • Irish cuisine is hearty and comforting. Be sure to try traditional dishes such as Irish stew, soda bread, boxty (potato pancakes), and fish and chips. Don't forget to sample some Irish breakfast staples, including black pudding and sausages. You’ll also find plenty of pubs serving pints of Guinness or local craft beers.

Cultural Etiquette

  • Ireland is known for its friendly and welcoming people. It’s customary to greet people with a smile and a handshake. In pubs and restaurants, it’s polite to say “please” and “thank you” (or “slán” when saying goodbye). People tend to engage in small talk, so don’t be surprised by a friendly conversation with locals.

Tipping

  • Tipping in Ireland is not mandatory, but it’s appreciated for good service. In restaurants, it’s typical to leave a tip of around 10% to 15% of the bill if service is not included. For taxi drivers, rounding up the fare is customary.

I was very pleased with the service that I received from evolution35 travel company. Our 9 day trip to Cancún was wonderful time in this beautiful country. The resorts that evolution35 chose for our stay were all wonderful! Evolution35 people was in constant communication with us via email and WhatsApp asking how the trip was going and if we had any concerns or requests and when I did have a request they responded immediately and took care of it. Everything including tours and transportation were taken care of for us so it was very relaxing knowing we did not have to think about anything except when and where we were going next. Evolution35 also worked hard to ensure that we have a wonderful time during our stay in Cancun an that we return home safe. We are planing a trip to Costa Rica with Evolution35 in October.

Our Happy Clients

The Paris 99 trip was great. We enjoyed the driving tour of Paris, although we did fall asleep a few times as we were tired from the overnight flight from SLC. Our guide, Pedro, provided excellent information on the history of Paris and the sites we saw. The tour of Versailles was excellent, but we do wish we could have spent a little more time there. The Eifel Tower was amazing but felt a little rushed. The dinner on the Seine was excellent. Thank you for a great trip.

We did the Costa Rica trip and it was incredible. Zipline, rainforest, boat rides, catamaran. It
was soooo much trip for the money. Loved the hotel Tabacón with the hot springs and the
Westin was also 5 star! You go from the Carribean side to the Pacific. It's the trip of a
lifetime. Well done evolution35

Our Happy Clients

Fantastic trip to Paris with Evolution 35. Between booking our trip and the time we left, we had lots of questions and they were always so quick to respond to our emails. It was so wonderful that they took care of many details of our trip for us, especially the first couple of days as we were getting oriented in a foreign place! Our tour guide was hilarious and knowledgeable. He helped us stay safe and have a lot of fun too! A great experience for us!

Our Happy Clients

¡Gracias!
